The kids and I picked up our tickets for everything today. It was such an overwhelming feeling as we met with the Wishes Can Happen Community Director. We went out to her beautiful log cabin home and she made us feel at home immediately. Juice boxes and fruit cups filled the table as I marveled at the unique home on the most lovely large piece of property.
She took the kids through the highlights of the next few days: a limo ride to the airport, a non-stop flight to Orlando, a rental van for the week, tickets to all the attractions, plenty of money to spend, and a week long stay at Give Kids The World. It sounded like a fantasy trip and the kids were promised lots of surprises to come. By the time we got in the car to go home all four of us were giddy with excitement.
One of my students gave us a book on how to find over 1,200 hidden Mickeys in the parks. We are hoping to read these on the plane and make a reasonable plan of attack. I have no idea how we are going to get them (or me) to sleep for the next two nights.

I wish you guys could add in a few days in Atlanta. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteOne of the most fun things we did was Pin Trading. We got Adrianna a pin trading set and she would trade with cast members everywhere we went. She ended up getting a full set of pins (we had no idea) and they gave her a special card saying she had had a magical moment and they signed and dated it. Anyway, it was a lot of fun.
